. This is a fantastic way to imagine the stories as they are read. Very few outside of Kabul thought of themselves as citizens of the country—as Afghans. Each installment is really a separate book with its own characters. The book was chalked full of mystery, suspense, action, teary-eyed, joyful, and miraculous moments all wrapped up in one. This novel takes place in the old west at a time when there were cholera epidemics. In fact, the first half of the book is quite Orwellian in its portrayal of the socio-political aims of the villains.
